Uniform Policy

Uniforms and new equipment bags are handled on a check-hold basis. In January, a uniform and equipment bag will be distributed to each player in exchange for a deposit check for $350 to Westlake Lacrosse. This check will remain uncashed if the player returns the bag and the full, washed uniform, all in good condition, at the end of the season. If any pieces are missing, we will cash the check to attempt to reorder the missing piece(s). The money remaining after replacement of missing pieces will be refunded. An itemized list of the replacement costs of the pieces will be handed out to players or their parents in January.

Refund Policy

Players who have paid dues and then decide not to participate in the program can be refunded $200 if they notify Westlake Lacrosse of this request by November 11, 2011.

No-Pass/No-Play Policy

Westlake Lacrosse conforms to the Texas UIL "no-pass/no-play" policy. Basics of the policy:

  • Must be passing all courses (except identified advanced classes). Passing means a minimum grade of 70 on all courses (except identified advanced classes).
  • Students lose eligibility for a three-week period, which is defined as 15 class days.
  • Ineligible students must wait seven (7) calendar days after a three-week evaluation period and the grading period to regain eligibility.
  • Students may regain eligibility an unlimited number of times throughout the school year.

Note: Spring break can't be part of the 3-week evaluation process. All students are eligible during spring break.

P.E. Waivers

Freshmen, sophomores and juniors can earn a 1/2 credit toward the Physical Education graduation requirements through spring participation in the Westlake Lacrosse program. To receive waiver credit, WHS requires that students acquire a total of 90 hours. Lacrosse players will earn these hours during practices, games and tournaments in the spring. If a player is already getting her P.E. credit through another Westlake spring sport (such as basketball or track), she is not eligible for an additional P.E. waiver credit during the same season. Coaches will keep track of each girl's attendance. Ultimately, it is the player and parent who are responsible for making sure that they understand the P.E. waiver policies, and that the player attends practices. Any girls interested in earning P.E. credit for spring lacrosse must turn in a Waiver Request Form by November 1st to Valerie Allen.
